Stella Heath, who alongside her husbans Ron, co-founded the Torch Trust was a writer. Diaries, articles, books – whatever and whenever, she would pick up a pen at any opportunity. The Bible was a constant inspiration to her and in her life’s work with blind people she frequently shared from the Bible. Aware that the Old Testament remains a mystery to many, she was inspired to write one last book in which she retells in her accessible style the story of the Old Testament culminating in the coming of Jesus Christ, as the long promised Messiah, his death and resurrection.
After a stoke, which robbed her of her natural fluency, she continued with determination but the work remained incomplete at her death in 2009. Eileen Cole, her companion in the years after Ron’s death, committed herself to complete the work and prepare it for publication.
