Description
This is a toolbox. Sorry if this conjures up painful memories of failed DIY projects, hours spent waiting for the emergency services on the hard shoulder of the motorway, or rusty, forgotten implements decked with cobwebs at the back of your garden shed.
But there are no spanners or trowels here. These tools are rather a means of getting to the bottom of any Bible passage and discovering its true meaning.
The passionate aim of this book is that it should help you to ‘correctly handle the word of truth’ (2 Timothy 2:15) so that you will experience God’s clear guidance in your life, come to know him better and grow to love him more. Our prayer is that your Bible reading will never be the same again.
‘An excellent user-friendly set of principles to help the Bible reader understand its message with increasing confidence and relevance.’ David Jackman, President, The Proclamation Trust
‘You don’t have to be an intellectual to understand the Bible. Obedience to what is clear is often the key to understanding what is at first reading unclear. I pray that this tool kit will encourage more Christians to approach the Bible with renewed vigour.’ John Chapman, Australian evangelist
‘This book is just brilliant. It is practical and accessible, and it will revolutionize the way you read the Bible. It will help you to see the Bible as an “all-you-can-eat” buffet rather than a “Mcquick-and-not-very-satisfying” nibble. Dig deeper and get to know God better!’ Linda Marshall, author of Pure
‘I like this book. In fact, I think we’ll start using it at our church.’ Mark Dever, Pastor, Capitol Hill Baptist Church, Washington DC, and Director, 9marks.org
